Chairman of SASIG, Cllr Keith Artus has been invited by the Department for Transport to sit on the newly formed UK Airspace Strategy Board, a new high level forum which is charged with oversight of the future direction of airspace policy and will be chaired by Minister for Aviation Baroness Sugg. Meetings will be held twice-yearly in April and October. The first meeting of the Board is taking place on 25th October.
The appointment is further recognition of the importance Whitehall attaches to SASIG’s work and will allow local authority views to be heard at the highest levels of governance steering future airspace development in the UK.
