Department for Transport dataset: Air traffic at UK airports

The Department for Transport has published the dataset ‘Air traffic at UK airports’. The dataset is available here. It contains the following tables:

  • Traffic at UK airports: annual, 1950 onwards
  • Air traffic by type of service, operator and airport, UK: time series
  • Punctuality at selected UK airports: time series
  • Forecasts of terminal passengers at UK airports
  • International passenger movements at UK airports by country of embarkation or landing: time series
  • Proportion of transfer passengers at selected UK airports: time series
  • Mode of transport to selected UK airports: time series
  • Purpose of travel at selected UK airports: time series
  • UK airports (map)

All data within the series are available as Excel spreadsheets.

Stakeholder responses to Airports Commission discussion papers

The Airports Commission has published the responses so far received to its discussion papers:

1) Aviation demand forecasting responses

2) Connectivity and economy responses

3) Aviation and climate change responses

4) Airport operational models

5) Aviation noise

The full list of respondents is available as an Excel spreadsheet – Directory of respondents and the papers they responded to.

In addition to evidence listed the Airports Commission has also received a number of short, email responses expressing opinion on particular airports. These have not been published.

The commission is now assessing the responses and is not seeking further comment or analysis from stakeholders.

Department for Transport dataset: How people travel (mode)

The Department for Transport have publised the dataset ‘How people travel (mode)’. The dataset is available here. Among the data in the series are the following:

  • Number of flights abroad in the last 12 months: Great Britain, since 2006; and
  • Long distance trips within Great Britain by main mode and length: Great Britain

All data within the series are available as Excel spreadsheets.

Public evidence sessions transcripts: Airports Commission discussion papers

The Airports Commission have published transcripts of the public evidence sessions held in Manchester and London on 9 and 10 July 2013, and, where applicable, links to the presentations given by witnesses in support of their opening remarks.

Thirteen organisations gave evidence on the subjects covered by the Commission’s series of discussion papers published earlier this year (The discussion papers set out the Commissions’ understanding of aviation demand forecasting, the role of aviation connectivity in the economy, aviation and climate change, the airport operational models employed by the industry, and aviation and noise).
