The Sustainability Reference Group (SRG) comprises the Airports Commission, the regulatory bodies Natural England, Environment Agency and English Heritage. and the following Government Departments:
- Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra);
- Department for Energy & Climate Change (DECC);
- Cabinet Office;
- Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG); and
- Department for Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS).
The SRG’s purpose is to review and advise on environmental or sustainability assessments undertaken by the Airports Commission. It acts in an advisory role and does not replace the need for public consultation nor the right of represented organisations to respond to such a consultation.
