SASIG response – Draft Aviation Policy Framework, 31 October 2012

In this consultation response, SASIG reinforces the need for the national aviation policy to achieve:

  • measurement and reduction of aviation-related noise;
  • supporting and improving community engagement;
  • reducing aviation’s climate change impacts;
  • ensuring aviation policy is developed in line with spatial planning policy and as part of national infrastructure planning;
  • regarding airport and airline operations in the context of an integrated transport network;
  • promoting the development of regional airports;
  • calculating economic benefits using a comprehensive assessment model; and
  • capturing economic benefits
