British Airways (BA) has said its joint venture with American Airlines (AA) may add £311 million ($500 million) in sales this year as joint scheduling and new routes push the alliance’s share of the Europe – North America traffic towards 25%, Business Week has reported. BA, sister airline Iberia and American aim to add at least a few percentage points to their 21% share of passengers on the world’s most lucrative long-haul routes, said Simon Talling-Smith, BA’s Vice-President for the Americas.
