Flybe is in the final stages of planning for a stock market flotation that would value the airline at £200 million. Flybe’s advisers, Band of America, Merrill Lynch and Investec, are known to have been working on the potential float for some time.

At the September 2010 full-year results announcement, Flybe Chairman and Chief Executive, Jim French, stated that when the market is in a position to give the company a sensible valuation, the airline would be looking at going to the market.

Flybe has been one of the few airlines to remain profitable through the recession and any cash that is raised through flotation would be used to pursue deals in mainland Europe.
