The Competition Commission (CC) is inviting submissions on whether or not there have been any relevant developments that it should take into consideration since it made its decision last year requiring BAA Ltd to sell three of its airports.
In March 2009, the Commission ordered BAA Ltd to sell Gatwick, Stansted plus either Glasgow or Edinburgh Airport within two years. BAA successfully challenged this in the Courts, but in October 2010 the Court of Appeal reinstated the order. The Commission is now inviting representations from all interested parties by 15 December 2010 on whether there have been any developments in the last 18 months that merit changes to the way BAA is broken up.
