At the forthcoming SASIG meeting on Friday 26 November 2010, Tony Rapson, Airspace Policy Coordinator at the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) will kindly be joining us to give a presentation on the CAA’s ‘Future Airspace Strategy’ (FAS).

The FAS was published for consultation on Monday 1 November 2010, and comments are invited for submission by 2 February 2011.

The final, agreed strategy will be the ‘road map’ for development of new technology and its introduction into the UK’s air traffic management system over the period to 2030.

This is a valuable opportunity to hear more about the CAA’s work on the strategy, pose your questions to Mr Rapson, and discuss the airspace issues shared by the SASIG membership – full consideration of overflown communities in terms of information provision, education & consultation, and assessment of options that are based on accurate population and emissions data, provide predictability, and take account of land use planning now and in the future.

Please come along to your SASIG meeting – 11am and 1pm, lunch provided, Local Government House, Smith Square, SW1P 3HZ.
