International passenger number growth has slowed in August 2010 according to the Airports Council International (ACI) but numbers have still increased in comparison with August 2009. Global passenger numbers have increased by 6.3% with domestic passenger numbers only increasing by 4.9%. In the year to date (January 2010 – August 2010) international passenger numbers have increased by 7.2% with domestic passenger numbers only increasing by 4.9% across the same period.

International freight continues to provide strong gains with a 19% increase over the year from 2009 with domestic freight also performing well with a 7.1% increase. Year to date figures show that international freight numbers have increased 28% with domestic increasing by 10.1%.
