Passenger numbers at Manchester Airport increased for the fourth consecutive month in January 2011, boosted by strong growth on scheduled international routes and milder weather than the same month last year, when severe snow and ice disrupted flights. A total of 1.08 million passengers used the airport last month, 6.1& more than the 1.01 million in January 2010
Scheduled international routes saw a 9.4% increase in passengers to 672,396 while passenger numbers on domestic routes climbed 6.14% to 162,445. Charter flights carried 244,454 passengers, down 2% on a year ago.
