The Cabinet Secretary and Head of the Civil Service, Sir Gus O’Donnell, has announced the appointment of Lin Homer as the new Permanent Secretary at the Department for Transport.
Ms Homer, who is currently Chief Executive at the UK Border Agency, was chosen following an open competition. The appointment has been approved by the Prime Minister and by the Transport Secretary Philip Hammond. Ms Homer is to take up the post in January 2011.
